Here is a mix from one of Toronto’s most under rated drum and bass dj’s…the one like KWIKFINGAZ. I’ve had this mix runnin for a while now and after at least 10 listens I’m still not sick of it. One of ‘those mixes’ so I thought I would big it up. Serious mixing with some great tunes covering a wide spectrum of the genre. Whether you’re chillin back blazing some tings or just cleaning up the crib on a sunday afternoon, this is a great mix to throw on full blast.

Brooklyn, New York’s Cousin Cole will be heading out to SXSW this year so he put together a little preparatory mix for all you baltimore club heads out there. It’s not easy to keep an hour of bmore fresh, but Major Rager keeps the fire burnin’ from start to finish. Lots of classic bmore tracks on here as well as some of Cole’s new material and a new track from DJ Get Em who’s got something coming out on Cole’s Flagrant Fowl label this summer. I’m pretty into that Doop track, which takes us back to 1994… rewind.

Billionaire, myself and our extended family will be throwing our first loft jam at the Zoo this Saturday, March 21st. We’ve got some serious reggae heat out of Italy coming from Toni of the Bomchilom crew. He’ll be throwing down a straight 45 set which will most definitely be filled with firey gems and straight reggae bangers… Jamaican music from the 60s to the present if you will. Billionaire’s going to bring the dubstep heat and I’ll be on that one, two, three, four get down kind of thing. We also got our boy Fully Blown on the extended reggae and dancehall tip. Send me an email for directions if you’d like to link us, we’re always down with new friendly folk.

Toronto dubstep producer Decklyn is the mastermind behind some fresh, eerie and dark beats that I have been really feelin as of late. His tunes all have this ‘atmospheric’ feel to them and his music has a great range to it.
Here he describes what I think is one of his best tunes —> Decklyn – “Sun”
“It won’t be for everyone – it’s definately genre bending. Early morning vibrations for sure. For when you can “see the sun”. Very melodic and lush.”
You can catch Decklyn spinning in Toronto alongside Stenchman, XI, Freezachin & Jawbone Apr.24th @ the Bassfish Stenchman party.

Christopher Mercer, aka Rusko was born in Leeds in 1985. Veering away from the dark, serious side of the sound Rusko bought a highly driven energy and fun approach to the dubstep massive and quickly coined his own take on the genre and turned the scene upside down. His sound appealed to many people outside of the dubstep world as his productions became more adventurous in formula, sound and energy. His huge hit “Cockney Thug” has been played by everyone from Pete Tong, Switch, Diplo and Santogold. And has been remixed by Buraka Som sistema, Diplo, Drop the Lime and the Scratch Perverts.
His sound continues to develop with different BPM’s that lean to jungle, house, hip hop or electro, either way, whatever BPM or tempo…you can immediately tell a Rusko track.
Be sure to catch RUSKO live at The Social March 30, 2009.
I have been really feeling the dubstep tunes these days and here is a little drop of whats gettin mad rotations up in my studio (aka my livingroom).

Busy Signal had a huge year in 2008 and he is already gaining steam in 2009. The Jamaican deejay has incredible flow and it seems this guy has a million different styles. Growing up in the notorious Cassava Piece ghetto of Kingston he has come from the “gully side” as he would put it. Busy has that unmistakeable authenticity to what he is singing about and you cant help but listen when he delivers his verses with bone chilling sincerity.
Check out his sophomore album “Loaded” released in 2008.
Also have a listen to his latest drop on the ‘Can’t Believe It Riddim’———> Busy Signal – Smoke Some High Grades
And finally I have to drop his massive release on the ‘Baddazz Riddim’——–> Busy Signal – Hustling
