Aidy’s Girl Is A Computer

Darkstar is the genius behind this beautiful piece of music.  Released on Hyperdub late in 2009, we can start to classify it as one of those slept on gems.  Give it a listen, I think you will love it.

PnTM-1: Mr. Mandelephant’s Sinister Nugget Mix

MandelephantLogo3

It seems that most blogs worth talking about these days have some sort of mix series going for ‘em, so to celebrate approximately one year in the blogosphere and the start of our mix series I present you PnTM-1: Mr. Mandelephant’s Sinister Nugget Mix. 70 minutes of sub infused house knockers mixed by yours truly using two Stanton STR8 150s, a DJM 800 and an SL1.

Jaar

marcy_hotel

I’ve been listening to some archived Wolf + Lamb podcasts and came across Nicholas Jaar’s label showcase set from the Bunker last March.  How such a young producer (I think he’s 19) manages to craft tunes of such intimate depth and sophistication floors me. A lot of you may have already heard this episode of theirs, but I totally slept on it and it made for a most excellent discovery today.

Nicholas Jaar – Label Showcase At The Bunker

Mi Mujer off Jaar’s latest Time For Us EP on Wolf + Lamb is an absolute gem and there are a also slew of other interesting releases from himself, Soul Keita and Nikita Quasim on his very own Clown & Sunset imprint.
