Everybody Needs Somebody To Pretend

Really excited for Benoit & Sergio's upcoming 12" slated for release June 20th on the infamous New York electronic disco powerhouse DFA Records. With both tracks sporting super-infectious hooks, innovative arrangements and ultra-thick bass lines nodding at some of Daft Punk's finest, it's easy to understand why almost all of the work this duo has produced has gone viral. Most definitely an "exploration of underground pop sensibilities" as suggested by DFA and also a high point in some of the best sets I witnessed on my first trip to DEMF this year (Visionquest, Soul Clap). <3 Everybody by benoitandsergio (Unfortunately the DFA Soundcloud player for this EP appears to not like being embedded so you'll have to check here for a listen to the full EP) Equally excellent is their recent "Let Me Count The Ways" which dropped on Ghostly's dance floor sister Spectral Sound just last week. Photek Beatings

New dubstep sounds coming from the veteran DnB producer Photek.  His recent Avalanche EP provides rugged bass beatings through and through.  Future sounds without the chainsaw breu step.  Check it. Photek - Avalanche (buy) [audio:/2011/june/Photek%20-%20Avalanche.mp3]
