Cheryl Voisine

cherylvoisine-dogvomitFor the last couple of weeks our good pal O-God has invited a number of local artists to showcase their talent amongst the kids shakin’ down at his weekly jam Kicks ‘n Dubs by getting them to do a painting throughout the evening. The works have turned out beautifully every single time, but both the Diamond Mind and myself were blown away by the stunning works of the unbelievably talented Cheryl Voisine. She is part of the La Stache Studio collective and if you want info and updates link her  group on Facebook.

She also took the time to hook us up with a little info about the work showcased on her website:

As far as my site goes, I guess I don’t really put down examples of what my art can be applied to because I don’t want anyone to think that that’s all I do.  Pretty much as an illustrator I’m a commercial artist and am open to any interpretation that that takes on. I think it’s important that people don’t pigeon hole illustrators into any specific category. That being said I along with the others that I have worked with along the way (either through my collective, through collaborative efforts with other artists or flying solo) have worked on many different projects whether it be concept illustrations for ad agencies, murals, poster design, book illustration, t-shirt designs, and even industrial design and graphic design.  I hope that in the future that expands to include many other exciting ventures and pretty much anything creative that I can wrap my brain around I’ll try my hand at.

I was also absolutely mind blown today by  the musics of 17 year old Sonic C from Miami. The simplicity of this Dutch inspired booty space launcher is extremely effective. Big ups to O-God for turnin’ me onto this.  The internet suggests I’m a bit late here, but seriously… 17 years old?  This kid really is sonic, so 2009… keep an eye out.
