After an embarrassingly long hiatus (that last post reads October 20th… hurting I know) I’m back from the depths of a flu filled couple of weeks that included a move. I hate moving.
To ring in this first post in a while, I’ve got a few chops from grime don Terror Danjah’s recent release on Planet Mu. Talk about a walk through genre park, the four track Industry Standard Volume 4 EP is one of the most unconventional releases to cross my ears in a while. Though Stealth Mode has pretty definitive dubstep wobble sound, Sidechain seamlessly vacillates between a grime-y two-step rhythm and an uptempo four on the floor bump working both your slow and your fast steps just right.
Zumpi Hunter (from ‘07) is definitely my favorite of the bunch and comes with a great remix from The Swindlers. It’s what I imagine Chromeo would sound like if they made dubstep tunes.
