I just got hit up this afternoon with a banging new remix of Kele’sEverything You Wanted by my man Hatchmatik of Peer Pressure. Hatchmatik was making some major waves on the net a year or two ago with several popular remixes such as My Girls by Animal Collective. In the spring of this year I was really wondering what was up with Hatchy because he seemed to have cooled it down as his website became stagnant and I was hearing very little about this killer Canadian producer and DJ. I reconnected with the Peer Pressure fam a month ago when Mandeezy and I threw down a big banger of a set with Hatch and A-Rock during one of the infamous On The Run afterpartys. The night was fantastic – - we finally got a chance to play with the Peer Pressure cats rather than watch them – - and what really made it special was that these guys were stoked to play with us, people who got as excited as they did during a set. We were all dripping with sweat and exploding with excitement with each big drop and breakdown. The highlight for me was when Rock & Hatch finished their set and Deezy dropped the classic Krames remix of Shoulder Lean- – a staple during 2007 Peer Pressure jams. Taste this savory morsel for yourself. You know where you heard it first!!

I put this mix together to pass around while rollin’ around the wild Canadian west and realized I totally forgot to slap it up on the blog for y’all to hear. That and I’ve now got an officialMr. Mandelephant Soundcloud for any of you who want to follow my auditory antics here on in.
Toronto dance/electronic music aficionado Denise Benson very kindly invited us out to play her Synchro party this coming Friday at Andy Pool Hall in Toronto and we couldn’t be more excited! In preparation for the occasion, I recorded an exclusive promo mix for all our heads to get down and decent to before we hit it! Check the Facebook event to sync the dance report. Summertime vibes all the way through here!!!
It’s the first Saturday of the month again and that can only mean one thing: disaster. The monthly party hurricane MAJOR RAGER is back in Kensington for the eleventh time and things are going to be as sweaty as ever up in this bitch. This month marks the return of the UK Connection (UKC), a group that brings down the warhammer hard on dancefloor party rockers with their reggae, dancehall, electro and UK funky heat. Things are gonna get hectic tonight, so buckle up and arrive early!
For those looking to keep raging past Ontario’s ultra-soft 2am (actually 1:45) last call, there will be a sick jam afterward which is being organized by some friends who know how to throw it down large. We are super excited for this one because our longtime favorites Hatchmatik and A-Rock from Montreal’s Peer Pressure camp will be dropping stingers with PNT’s Mr. Mandelephant. Mandelephant and I were corrupted by Peer Pressure’s parties back in 2007, where the dancing was out of control, the beats were furious and the sweltering human heat nearly unbearable. If you need to get some pep in your step, hit this one-two party combo with us tonight – we have the deets and it will be epic.
This mix by A-Rock has been played into the ground by Dick and Deezy. Shoulder leanin’ never sounded or looked as good as in ‘07. This killer mix is undoubtedly one of my favorites of all time.

Hatchmatik got lots of blog love for his remixes. I have been rinsing My Girls thoroughly for more than quite some time. Here, pop these tunes into your speakers – everyone is doing it.

This Friday (April 23rd) the Plugged Not Thugged fam will be invading Suba Nightclub in Toronto for an evening of Greasy Nuggets (Facebook Event). We’ve got the talented Lucy ‘Lo From 84:85 headlining the night with support from myself, the Hotmess DJs as well as Billionaire, Ballistik and Dick Diamonds.
It seems that most blogs worth talking about these days have some sort of mix series going for ‘em, so to celebrate approximately one year in the blogosphere and the start of our mix series I present you PnTM-1: Mr. Mandelephant’s Sinister Nugget Mix. 70 minutes of sub infused house knockers mixed by yours truly using two Stanton STR8 150s, a DJM 800 and an SL1.
This is a little baltimore infused edit I did of Mylo’s Drop The Pressure a long ways back (circa October ‘07), sprinkled with a little mid 90’s cheese: vox cuts from Ce Ce Peniston’s Finally.
It got dusted out of the digi-crate archives my last couple of sets and people were really feelin’ it, so I thought I’d share. Basic.
